Hilton Extend Points And Status To 2022

Big Hilton news! Due to the ongoing travel disruption caused by Covid-19, Hilton are now extending your points and Elite Status to 2022. They’re also reducing Elite Status and Status Gifting requirements in 2021. These changes apply in all regions and countries across the globe and you don’t have to do anything, changes will be applied automatically. Here are all the details.

Your Elite Status Won’t Expire Until 2022

Whether you’re a Silver, Gold or Diamond Hilton Honors member, your status will now be extended until March 31st 2022.

That’s great news if your status was due to downgrade in 2021. That downgrade has just been cancelled so you can enjoy your Elite Status benefits until the end of the 1st quarter of 2022.

Your Points Won’t Expire Until January 1st 2022

Your Hilton Honors Points have an extended expiry date. No points will expire until December 31st 2021.

Elite Status Requirements Cut In Half In 2021

From January 1st 2021, you can earn Elite Status, whether it’s Silver, Gold or Diamond with half the nights, stays or base points compared to 2020. Check out the 2021 Elite Status requirements below:

  • 2021 Silver Status = 5 Nights, 2 Stays or 12.5K Points (2020 = 10 Nights, 4 Stays, 25K Points)

  • 2021 Gold Status = 20 Nights, 10 Stays or 37.5K Points (2020 = 40 Nights, 20 Stays, 37.5K Points)

  • 2021 Diamond Status = 30 Nights, 15 Stays or 60K Points (2020 = 60 Nights, 30 Stays, 120K Points)

As announced previously, 2020 nights rollover to 2021. That means, if you’ve gained Nights, Stays or Points in 2020, you’ve got a head start to achieving the higher tiers in 2021.

2021 nights above your member tier will rollover to 2022. For example, a Gold member staying 60 nights in 2021 will earn Diamond and 30 Nights will rollover to 2022.

As normal, cross-over stays earned (eg. stays that begin in December 2020 and end in January 2021) will apply to the status year of the check out date.

Give The Gift of Gold or Diamond For Less

If you want to gift Elite status to a friend or family member, 2021 makes that much easier.

Previously, you had to stay 60 nights before you could gift Gold to a friend or family member (100 nights to gift Diamond status). You now only have to stay 30 nights before you can gift Gold (60 nights before you can gift Diamond).

Bear in mind, 2020 rollover nights won’t count towards this requirement, only nights earned in 2021.
