Hilton Announce Status And Point Extensions Due To COVID-19

Hilton have just announced an update to their policy due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19. This update was posted on the 25th of March, 2020.

Points/Status Extension

2019 Status Extension - All members whose 2019 status was due to be downgraded on March 31st, 2020 (Diamond, Gold or Silver) will now receive an automatic extension of their status through March 31st 2021.

2020 Status Extension - All members whose 2020 status was due to be downgraded on March 31st, 2021 (Diamond, Gold or Silver) will now receive an automatic extension of their status through March 31st, 2022. That’s a period of 24 months (2 years) from the end of this month.

Points Extension - Any points due to expire between now and December 31st, 2020 will now no longer expire.

Weekend Night Rewards - The expiration date of unexpired Weekend Night Rewards (as of March 11th, 2020), plus all new ones issued until the 30th of August, 2020 will be extended through the 31st of August, 2021.

Current or Future Bookings Policy

Existing Reservations - Any reservations, even non-cancellable reservations (advanced purchase) scheduled for arrival on or before the 30th of June, 2020 can be changed/cancelled with no charge. This can be done up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival.

New Reservations - Any new reservations including those described as non-cancellable (advanced purchase) booked between now and June 30th, 2020 for any future arrival date, can also be changed/cancelled at no extra charge. This can also be done up to 24 hours before scheduled arrival.

How Has This Changed Since The Last Update?

The previous update (issued on the 20th of February, 2020) announced a similar extension but only for Hilton Honors members from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

This update now applies to global Hilton Honors members.
