Status Matching Delta To Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

The Alaska status level you can match to depends on your current Delta status:

• Delta Silver Medallion members can match to Alaska MVP

• Delta Gold Medallion members can match to Alaska MVP Gold

• Delta Platinum & Diamond Medallion members can match to Alaska MVP Gold 75K

Initially, you’ll get your Alaska status matched for 90 days.

Alaska then offer a status match challenge. Fly a minimum number of miles with Alaska in those 90 days and you’re status will be extended. Here’s how Alaska’s status match challenge works:

• Extend MVP Status - Fly 5,000 Miles on Alaska in the 90 day window

• Extend MVP Gold Status - Fly 10,000 Miles on Alaska in the 90 day window

• Extend MVP Gold 75K Status - Fly 20,000 Miles on Alaska in the 90 day window

Once you meet Alaska’s status match challenge requirements, your status will be extended until:

• End of Current Calendar Year - If you started challenge before end of June

• End of Next Calendar Year - If you started challenge between July and end of December

How To Complete The Status Match

First, sign up to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan so you can get a Mileage Plan number. Note down your membership number once you’ve got an account. This should only take a few minutes.

Next, login to your Delta SkyMiles account, head to ‘My SkyMiles’ and take a screenshot of your SkyMiles status (showing name and status). You’ll need this as evidence to complete the match. You’ll also need either a screenshot of your Delta year-to-date miles flown or miles flown in the year prior to earning your Delta status.

Importantly, Alaska will only match to your Delta SkyMiles status if you’ve earned Delta status the usual way. If you received Delta status via a credit card or similar promo, they won’t offer you the match.

Now you’ve got your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan number and Delta account screenshots, head to the Alaska Airlines Status Match page and complete the online from.

Select your ‘Current Frequent Flyer Program’ (Delta), enter your Alaska Mileage Plan number and Alaska Airlines email. Now upload the required screenshots from your Delta SkyMiles account.

Whilst Alaska say you’ll need to wait up to 4 weeks for the status match, most hear back within a few days. However, you might want to bear in mind the potential delay if you’re waiting to book an Alaska Airlines flight.
